The Trade · Volume 05
Wholesale & Partnerships
We supply a small, considered list of cafes, restaurants, and offices who want their morning coffee to taste like something other than capitulation.
Wholesale, for us, is not about volume. It is about finding the few places where our coffee will be ground correctly, dosed thoughtfully, and served to people who notice.
If you run a cafe with a working espresso machine, a competent grinder, and a barista who has read more than one book about coffee — please write to us. We will arrange a tasting, work out a profile that suits your room and your customers, and put your account onto our weekly roast.
If you run an office, a hotel, or a small institution that takes its breakfast seriously, the same applies. We are less interested in volume than in the question of whether the coffee in question will actually be enjoyed.
What we provide
- Weekly roast. Roasted Tuesday, dispatched Wednesday, on your bar by Friday at the latest.
- Profile development. A custom espresso or filter blend tuned to your equipment, water, and clientele. We adjust seasonally.
- Bar support. Quarterly site visits, dial-in sessions for new staff, and a dedicated phone number for the inevitable Tuesday-morning emergency.
- Marketing materials. Origin cards, tasting notes, and a small framed print for above the till. We do not sell these; they come with the account.
Equipment
We do not sell equipment. We do, however, have opinions about it, and partners we trust who do.
- Espresso machines. Slayer, La Marzocco Linea PB, Synesso. The choice between them is a matter of temperament, not specification.
- Grinders. Mahlkönig E80 for espresso, EK43 for filter. Anything less, and you are working against your own coffee.
- Water. A proper RO system with re-mineralisation. The water in most cities will not let your coffee speak honestly.
The best espresso machine in the world cannot rescue stale coffee, just as the freshest roast cannot survive a poorly maintained grinder. The chain is only as strong as the weakest link.
To apply
Write to wholesale@meridianoak.coffee with a sentence about your operation, the equipment you use, and an honest description of what you are trying to serve. We will write back within a week. If we are a fit, we will schedule a tasting; if we are not, we will tell you so and probably suggest someone who is.
